Chelsea Townhouse

Chelsea, London

The Chelsea house was extensively reconfigured internally to optimise the compact proportions of the existing structure. Care was taken to retain the character of the Victorian architecture while interpreting it through a contemporary lens.

The spaces are crisply detailed and defined by a restrained palette of natural materials, including oak, limestone and Tadelakt, combined with timeless tones throughout.

The lower floor opens onto a compact yet sun-filled back garden.

The principal living, dining and kitchen spaces occupy the public floors and are arranged largely as open-plan volumes to maximise light and connectivity. In contrast, the upper two floors contain the bedroom suites, conceived as more intimate and quieter spaces in character.
